The principal architect of TAD has gained experience in preparing fire and life safety design for health care related buildings using life safety codes NFPA 101,International Building Code (IBC) projects exceeding a total area of 2 Million Sq.ft.

For a new project on the boards, we're working through the preliminary stages of the architectural process, starting with a general site analysis.

Discussion + Information Gathering + Documentation
The architects from Thomas Architectural Designs (TAD) will visit the site, review the existing conditions, and take as-built measurements of what is there (existing building /property).

Schematic Design and Feasibility
TAD would generate 2-3 preliminary designs incorporating the information from step one. At this stage, TAD will be bringing design concepts to the table. The general locations of the functions of the buildings are considered and graphically represented in diagram form.

Design Development + Approval Documents
TAD will develop the schematic drawings into approval drawings and documents. Information from other consultants, like the structural engineer, MEP, HVAC is developed and coordinated with the design drawings.

Selection of a Contractor & Construction Administration
General contractors are interviewed and a good fit is established. The documents and drawings for the project are now complete and construction begins. Typically with a project of any complexity TAD with the other consultants involved will be available to answer questions, deal with clarifications and administer revisions if necessary.
